"Snake Cats (Fire)" embodies my exploration of duality and the harmonious interplay of opposing forces, drawing inspiration from the yin and yang philosophy. In these series, I delve into the balance between cats and snakes, as well as the elemental forces of FIRE, EARTH, AIR, and WATER.
In "Snake Cats (Fire)", the juxtaposition of cats and snakes symbolizes the coexistence of natural adversaries, revealing the shared instincts and intertwined destinies they possess. The limited color palette of three hues and black is carefully selected to evoke a sense of balance and tranquility, mirroring the peace of mind found within the yin yang.
"Snake Cats (Fire)" expands upon this exploration by incorporating the elemental forces that serve as the foundations of life. The four elements—FIRE, EARTH, AIR, and WATER—are essential for our existence, providing the heat of the sun, the solid ground beneath our feet, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. FIRE, in particular, possesses a dual nature: it can both burn and harm, as well as provide warmth and sustenance.
Through my art, I aim to evoke a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness of all things. "Snake Cats (Fire)" invites viewers to contemplate the delicate equilibrium between opposing forces and the unity found within the natural world. By embracing this balance within ourselves and our environment, we can foster a greater sense of harmony and ensure the continuity of life itself.
